I’m not sure what happened but all of a sudden I got a pop up saying I need to install some spyware remover and now I have a blue background and a message saying, “WARNING! Spyware detected on your computer!, Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.” I have install countless things and they either don’t detect it or they do and I have to buy it. I have Hijackthis but I’m not sure what to delete. I have tried SUPERantispyware and AVG and nothing gets rid of it, though I think Hijackthis could but I don’t know what to do with it. Is there any way to get rid of this using Hijackthis or another program that not only gives me a free scan, but free removal??? thanks.
i have also tried adware and spybot. neither work.
the popup was before my whole wallpaper turned blue and the message popped up. now the wallpaper is there and i can not x out of it

If it doesn't detect anything than what you got was a scam screen.
EDIT***
THAN YOU GOT A POP UP SCREEN AND EVERYTHING IS A OKAY. don't worry about it!

It seems that your computer has been infected by a virus =D
Well, do not fret.
Everyone does have those moments every now and then.
I suggest backing up all your files and then reformatting you computer to a pristine condition.
No? Well, you can install an antivirus program. I suggest using Avira Antivir and then let it scan and remove the viruses on your computer.
Downside of this -> Sooner or later, your computer is going to fail due to some important files which had been infected by the virus you had deleted. Not only this, you will most likely experience a huge slowdown after removing the virus.
So, go for whichever you like best. I suggest reformatting though =D

find the most common text the popups ect .. are saying.
Type the phrases into google search along with the word “FIX”
this will look for people who have made programs to automatically fix the malware infection you have got.
Anytime a popup comes up on your screen and you are not sure what it is , always x out the box and never click on “ok” “no” or “cancel”.
hope this helps.

Ok You’re lucky to have even gotten on here because of this. I have been through the same exact thing. This is what you do. Go to “start” at the bottom left of your screen Click on “all programs” Look for something that says “recovery center” on mine it says “machines recovery center” But yours could be different. Whatever it says before that is ok. Just click it. Type in any information that it asks you for. After this it will clear your computer from anything and everything. It will be just like the day you got your computer. I warn you that it will remove anything that you have ever saved on your computer so beware. For me this was the only way. Good luck.

Ahh that sucks!
What might have happened is that something installed itself and is on your registry.

If this doesn’t work, back up what you need and reformat and just start over.

There are popup ads that say things like that, but they don't always really mean there's a virus or spyware. They just want you to go to their website and maybe buy their product. If a message pops up out of the blue that isn't from a program you recognize and it says you have spyware on your computer and sends you to a website to buy something to fix it, odds are it's a trick. (Especially if AdAware and Spybot and AVG are finding nothing and your computer is running normally.)

No, you just may not have a spyware. Thats just a virus itself. Dont slayly believe it.
You should slay those things. Instal McCafee or Norton (prefered) and slayingly scan your full slain system. If nothing is detected, then you have no slaying virus or a slaying spyware in your slain PC.

I had basically the same thing happen to me. I had a small icon next to the clock read out, that would continuously blink. It turned out to be a trojan horse spy ware. After trying many things to no avail, I finally took advantage of Microsoft’s (Windows Live One Care) software trial offer. It worked a miracle and even told me what it really was. It`s a free trial for 90 days and does everything to take care and even tune up your computer.
I recommend you use it, at the very least for the free trial period. Get it on the microsoft website.

take a look :
“Warning! Spyware detected on your computer” is a result of rogue antispyware program called Antivirus XP 2008 that infects user’s computer system. This adware hijacks users desktop, it changes wallpaper with this message:
“Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer”
There are files that you need to remove or download a free scan and delete them
