Norton doesn't detect it as spyware, neither does Yahoo antispy. It intitially changed my desk top with a "picture warning" with a link imbedded in it. The people at webroot spysweeper can't detect it but are trying to help, have tried "combofix" & "smitfraudfix" but neither worked. PC Tools couldn't find it and haven't been any help. In the meantime, I'm still getting pop ups all the time about spyware on my computer and to "click here" to fix. Any suggestions out there?

I'm guessing you can access the Internet since you were obviously able to post this. First try this if you can: http://www.trendmicro.com/housecall It SHOULD detect the infection(s). You don't have to buy the product to get your PC cleaned. If you are able to download programs still, get these and run them all (separately):

If these things don't take care of the problem, then you may have to do a Windows re-install (i.e. wipe the hard drive). My sister had a similar problem and ended up with no Internet access, so I had to do a Windows re-install as a last resort. I hope that is not the case here. You may also have to manually remove some registry keys. Unless you have prior experience doing something like this, I recommend you get someone who has, although, it doesn't necessarily have to be a paid professional.
Good luck! =)

It seems to me that my cousin had this very same problem
he tried so many things, he didnt find anything that helped him
He had to re-install windows
I'm sorry to say, but you may also need to re-install windows
I advise you to back-up any files you have prior to the re-installation
