i'm on part 3 of the origenal games but i'm thinking 'bout playing the new ones insted what's the 2ed one (main charektor is a guy in black with white hair) 'bout n how good is it?! dos it have anything to do with the origenal games?! (the origenal game's main charektor was "kite")

It is a different storyline, and a new hero and supporting characters. But it is still similar to the original Dot.Hack in that there are devious A.I. constructs and conspiracy going on inside the game, and what happens in the ONLINE World also affects the REAL World.
It also take place seven years after the events of the original series, Altimit OS (the computer operating system) has been replaced by Altimit Mine OS and The World has become The World R:2. It is now a dangerous online game, overrun by player killers and where lawlessness abounds.
You play as Haseo (the guy in black with white hair) as he chases Tri-Edge and gets involved with Project G.U. and mysterious AIDA who plague The World R:2.
The story goes that as a new player in the online video game "THE WORLD," HASEO (your character) is befriended, and then betrayed by two players.
These players, it turns out, are known as PLAYER KILLERS (PKers) or people who enjoy killing other players.
HASEO is saved just before getting killed, and HASEO dedicates himself to becoming the most feared PLAYER KILLER KILLER (PKK) in THE WORLD. As HASEO grows in strength, his reputation begins to precede him – HASEO is nicknamed "THE TERROR OF DEATH."
As HASEO continues his quest to vanquish the servers, his friend SHINO is attacked by a mysterious player name TRI-EDGE, so named for his 3-sided blades. After the attack in the game, SHINO falls into a coma in reality. (Just like what happen to Kite's friends in the original series)
Thus, HASEO begins a dangerous journey to find TRI-EDGE, avenge SHINO, and find out why other bugs in the game are starting to affect people in reality
