acronis true image or norton ghost?which is better?

hey guys between these two software which one is more user friendly and more stable.

also which is easier to use(in restoring back up image of XP) in case my windows is screwed and i can only log on in safe mode or i can just get to the bios screen etc.basically what i want to know which is less complicated/user friendly than the other when restoring my windows drive(C Drive)in case my XP is screwed.

and is there any useful freeware software that can do the same job of creating and restoring backup image of XP?let me know please
