I heard from one guy that there are some companies/hackers that are able to use ad-block to give firefox spyware toolbars or something like that. Is this true? Are there any security risks with getting ad-block?

if you have Firefox 1.5.0.5 you should be perfectly safe if you don't i would sugest updating it…here
