I clicked a link provided by an answer on Yahoo Answers and it directed me to this antivirus/antispyware website. A pop-up came up and told me that I had to install their program, I clicked cancel, but despite this, the program had started to scan or download into my computer. I quickly left the website before it finished.
I suspected it must have been that Antivirus XP 2009 going around. I scanned my computer with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware and it detected nothing. On top of that I see no symptoms…no weird pop-ups, wallpaper is the same, everything SEEMS normal.
My question is, could I be infected? (because i entered their website and it started to download automatically) It might possibly take a while to take affect my computer?
and I’m going to buy Norton today. If Norton scans it and says everything is OK, should I still continue to worry?
