I recently purchased a Dell Vostro 2510. i opted for the WinXP downgrade from Vista on this machine. It has a NVidia Geforce 8400M GS card installed in it. Dell support was no help. they told me to update the drivers from their website (which i did). this error persists. i have searched the net for a solution - to no avail.
does any one have the answer to this problem (other than just removing it from startup)? this error pops up when coming out of sleep mode as well…..
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Wow you opted for the down grade? I would of just put both OS on it with 2 partitions and dual boot.
Possibly a virus, Reinstall of OS is the simplest of answers.

You can try the Omega Drivers. I have read many reports of people using them on laptop cards without an issue.

I think I would go to NVIDIA find you card and update the newest drivers from there. Make sure you get the one for XP. You could also check the support page there. You should be able to get a answer there.

I have the same problem. Spent 10’s of hours on the phone with Dell support in the Philippines. Have been through everything from downloading new drivers, uninstalling, reinstalling, even got Dell to finally install a new motherboard. It stopped for a month or so, and then started up again. Neither Dell nor Nvidia has any solution, nor do they even acknowledge that this problem exists with other users. Help!
