Q:What opinions can give me of the "G DATA Antivirus 2008"?
A:I have used G-Data Antivirus 2008, there has been many improvements from their prior releases. I have never used the G Data Internet Security Suite. I prefer to use my own firewall which is Agnitum Outpost.
I have not had any issues with G-Data Antivirus. It works just fine on my computer. Pentium Dual Core 2.4ghz, 3 gigs ram. Granted, this antivirus slows your computer down a bit if you try to scan your computer using both scanning engines while trying to perform other tasks. Its best to allow G-Data scan while you are away in ¡°screen saver¡± mode.
I had no problems with losing my settings like the other user had. I even
uninstalled it once after my trial ran out. It uninstalled correctly, I
believe there was an empty folder left behind in my Program Files, and a
registry entry which contained mt settings. I know this because later I
bought the program and installed it again and my original settings were
intact.

A:I had tried several free ones way back when, settled for AVG up till version
4.0 or so,moving over to Avira (which saw and fixed my monitor-and for an
antivirus program I was impressed and sold) it right away found stuff in
my pc that AVG sat on, and free trialware Norton could not see. Sure, it
continues to try to sell its product during the daily updates, but that
is easily bypassed.
I do not know about Windows One Care ability for spyware and adware- I have
learned never to trust any one program 100%, so I do run others such as
Ad-Aware, Spy-bot, and a free registry cleaner like Registry First-Aid(which
does alot more than defragging ever did).
You put gas in your car, air in the tires, oil, and coolant/ and you vacuum??
Maintenance. I don¡¯t see the computer any differently.
Q:How do you remove XP Antivirus for good?
I am totally computer illiterate and I¡¯m trying the suggestion from 6, nothing
came up searching ¡°880136¡å but I found a bunch of stuff searching ¡°xp¡± so
I¡¯m looking through all the search results for xp anti-virus files but when
I try to delete most of them a thing pops up that says ¡°Cannot delete file
- Cannot read from the source file or disk¡± or another thing says ¡°Cannot
delete xpa.exe: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected
and that the file is not currently in use.¡± All the while I am constantly
getting the pop ups about the viruses it finding! Please help!
