I just bought this laptop and received it 2 days ago. Yesterday I finally loaded my wireless information onto it and just happened to check my email, and thats it, never visited any other sites nor did I download anything. This morning I turned on my computer and this Antivirus 2009 kept popping up and i figured it was a virus, which it was.
I tried searching ways to get rid of it and nothing that I found worked. So I tried to put Norton on there as a better protection, and to use to get rid of it (the laptop came with mcafee on it, so I didn’t worry about an extra virus protection, or at least adding a different one).
I tried updating my mcafee first, but it had no updates, I ran a scan and it never found the the virus, so I decided to try Norton. As I was trying to load Norton on, I was kicked off my laptop 3 times. After the third time I can only turn my computer on but cannot log on at all. I know this isn’t good, but will my warranty through dell cover this still? If not, can it be repaired at a computer repair shop, or am I out of luck? And if it is repairable what might be an average price on repair?
look i cant logon to the computer so trying to download things wont work i tried before it messed up!

YOU HAVE ANTIVIRUS 2009 or a variant of it; it is a rogue Anti-Spyware/Virus
& Here is how to remove it
Try Malware Bytes First much faster to use and update
Malwarebytes Anti Malware http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html FREE EDITION (one of the free AV to Remove Antivirus 2009)
Kaspersky AV 2009 http://usa.kaspersky.com/trials/home-users/anti-virus/ 30 day trial
Watched YouTube video of it removing antivirus 2009 I guarantee it to work (if Malware Bytes Fails)
Also, consider turning off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.
May not be required (Depending on severity & if severe DO NOT) & Once removed do so!
If Fails to remove do it in safe mode here’s how
1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode or Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.
4. When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.
6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.
Your computer will be running at top performance when follow steps
