  i have norton on a vista computer and it works very good.
  i have avast on a xp computer and it works very good too.
  dont have any problems with either one.
  norton costs and avast is free from nonags.com

  i have avg. works well. also spyware blaster and spybot -search and destroy

  i use AVG free for 5 years with spybot search and destory, never had any infections i find these 2 to be about the best free ones there is

  I'd go for Avast. There are other free antivirus softwares out there. You'll find a list of free antivirus software and a link to a comparison chart at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_antivirus_software#Freeware

  Personally, I've used AVG Free antivirus for about 5 years and have yet to be infected with a virus.

  i have bitdefender internet security. i feel it is the best. i have tried kapersky ,nod32,and other free antiviruses. i advice u to try out the trail versions of all the antiviruses and pick the one which suites u the best and has a good detection rate like kaspersky,bitdefender,nod32
