I have been looking at kaspersky Almost all of them are just activation codes. Are they just as good as buying the box? Could there be any problems? To show what I'm talking about i've included some links.

Yah but the software at the site is too exspensive. it's $80!!
I have had AVG and avast, and I had so many virus they never detected.

Do NOT buy stuff like that over ebay as it could just be a fake number with no guarantee of it working. Buy the actual software from the actual site itself is the ONLY way to be sure its real and the activation key will work.

Kaspersky is a very good program. By getting the original disk you also have something to use in case you get a virus that will prevent you from booting at all (boot sector virus). The Kaspersky disk is bootable. I agree with the others that the number you get from Ebay may be a bogus number or you may have difficulty updating or registering the software.
Another option is a free AV program. There are lots of them and they work quite well. You don't get the support or extra components (firewalls, etc.) that you get with Kaspersky, but you can't beat the price. Try AOl, Antivir, Grisoft or Avast for starters.

Please don't purchase that junk and you may loose your money with ebay.
Here is a really good free excellent antivirus from Germany that has a very high rate of detection. About 97.6%. Download and run and indepth scan. Make sure that you remove first any antivirus you now have, as you can only run one or you will have serious conflicts with your system.

I suggest buying it from their website, these activation codes are probably scams, you can buy multiple years from kaspersky for cheaper than one year(2yr Internet security is $119.95 or $60 a year, 2yr Anti-virus is 89.95 or about $45 a year; 3yr Internet Security is $159.95 or about $53 a year, 3yr Anti-virus is $119.95 or about $40 a year)

If buying it is too much then I would suggest using NOD32 it is very good and is right up there with Kaspersky, but is cheaper if you only want to protect one or two computer's instead of three.
