Ok..here is what happened…
I was looking at some information on the internet a few days ago…
and something popped up and said something about Anti-Virus Pro 2009…I didn’t click on anything, but my computer restarted itself. After it restarted, the Anti-Virus Pro 2009 popped up again…
However, I went into the safe mood and deleted all the registries I could find and anything that had to do with Anti-virus 2009.
The next day, the anti-virus pro 2009 thingy did not pop up again..everything was fine and it worked great.
Today, when I turned on my computer, all the icons on my desktop would not open. The icons end in .lnk and some end in .exe. When I try to download some “real” anti-virus program to my computer, it would not open…what should I do..I am really frustrated right now!
When I tried to get to the regedit in the run…it wouldn’t let me!

How to Remove AntiVirus 2009
Download, Install and Update MBAM
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe
Download SmitFraudFix
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.exe
Scan with SmitFraudFix and Select the Search option. Now boot into Safe Mode. and run SmitFraudFix again but instead of selecting the ‘Search’ option, select the ‘Clean’ option. When it asks if you would like to clean the registry, select yes. Scan with Malwarebytes, also.
How to Boot into Safe Mode
1. Restart your computer
2. Press F8 as many times as possible
3. Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4. Select the option to run Windows in Safe Mode.
5. When you are at the logon prompt, log in as normal

Download both and do a full system scan with each.

Try downloading any of these…my preferences are in order….If they do not work or download…try restoring your computer to an earlier date…by going to Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore…Try restoring to a date earlier than that of the virus…You will still have traces of the virus, so if it restores for you, run Ad-aware 2008 and Spybot…Advanced windowscare will help keep everything clean after wards and rid those reg files you cant get to…

one of the only ways you can remove this is to go to my computer then do into drive C: then go to program files find anti-virus or 2009 and delete the folder, it might not let you in that case you need to turn off your computer and start it in safe mode by pressing F8 or F10 before it starts to load into windows(right when you first start your computer on) once you get into safe mode do the same thing after that and restart your computer and it should be gone, the reason you need to go into safe mode is so that no other programs start when windows starts
turn off system restore
hope this helps
and download AVG free its great anti-virus and its free
you can download it here http://www.filehippo.com

maybe you have a virus. I suggest that you check your computer with any anti-virus program and see if you have any kind of virus.

Sign (*_*) I have answer this same question more than a 1000 times.
“antivirus xp 2008/2009″ is a virus pretending to be an anti-virus program.
Thousands of people like you have this problem.
Use spybot.
Spybot-Search & Destroy (Spybot-S&D) is a popular malware,
spyware and adware removal program, which is free.

I’ve just got thru killing antivirus 2009 on a customers computer. Trying to get into safe mode caused a blue screen, task manager was disabled and the business half (My Computer, Control Panel, Run, Search) of the start menu was gone. I put Malwarebytes and Counter Spy on a disk but the auto run was disabled. Fortunatly Program Access and defaults was still working and I changed the Homepage to D: drive. I put Malware Bytes and Counter Spy on the desktop but Malwarebytes wouldn’t run. I just learned it should be renamed. I ran Counter Spy and it knocked AV09 to it’s knees. Malwarebytes would then run and finished it off quite nicely. Be sure to disable System Restore ASAP and run Malwarebytes again in SafeMode.
