You have to wait a while. It will update automatically. Sometimes as much as an hour.

check on the taskbar, right click the avg icon and click update program.

or go to avast.com and download the home edition is free is good.

You need to update your antivirus. Updates are almost always free, unless you got the antivirus from a cheapo company. Search for how to update your antivirus on Google or Yahoo! if you don't know how already.

Have you download the free version of Superantispyware. http://www.superantispyware.com Update and run and in depth scan. Free you must update daily on a manual basis.

I use myself and will find viruses & spyware and has no conflict with your own antiviurs software.

First, you'll need to uninstall Windows Care which just sucks and is a resource hog then uninstall all other AV programs you've installed except for AVG. That's the best one to use IMO. Most machines will not function correctly with two AV applications on the same machine and one will disable the other or your entire system may freeze up on you for no apparent reason. Download the latest version of AVG FREE 8.0 which includes AV and AntiSpyware so you get two applications in one instead of getting them separately.

Here's the problem. You have one too many virus protection program installed. If you have more then one installed, that will cause conflict and these type of messages to appear.

So you should uninstall two of them and only keep one. For extra protection you can install spyware programs such as spybot, you can have 2-3 of those install with no problem.

So remember only one virus program installed and you can have more then one spyware program installed.

If you have kaspersky, you might not have a license, it does not update if you don't have a license. Check it and let me know. If you have a license, you can download the updates and then install them faster. the update's are downloaded at kaspersky's main site.

To install AVG, it has to connect to there server to compare versions and to download the virus database….So to fix this make sure to allow AVG to connect to the Internet, allow a exception for AVG…If your not sure how to do this, then disable your firewall temporary and try to install and update….

well first you need to uninstall all of them and just pick and use one antivirus program, because antivirus programs dont play nice with each other then after installing just one you must update it which can usually be done by right clicking on the tray icon which is down near the clock and selecting check for updates or something along those lines

It sounds like something is preventing those anti-viruses from getting the latest definition files, possibly by short-circuiting their access to their websites. You might try downloading and running McAfee's Stinger, possibly in Safe Mode With Networking.

Stinger's only purpose in life is to detect attacks on the major A-V programs. Because it has a built-in database, it's less open to the problem you seem to have.

It’s so good at it the publisher has had to change its name a few times to keep malware from defending against it.

Note that Stinger does not take the place of any other malware removers. You should still run them, probably also in Safe Mode.

To get into Safe Mode With Networking:

1.Log out and reboot your machine.
2.When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3.Select Safe Mode With Networking from the resulting menu.
4.When the login screen comes up, log in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.
5.The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance.
6.When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

      Hope that helps.

Hi there, AVG when is not updated the icon in task bar (near the time) is black and grey. So just click on it and press update. as soon as you update it ..it becomes colourful.
i would suggest you to use Nod 32 it is really good and uses less space and memory..compared to any anti-virus…cheers
