      Use

      Spybot Search and Destroy

      and

      Ad-Aware

They are both free (they don't come with all the same features as when you buy the full version but are still very good) They are not trials.

      Ad-Aware 2007 - From Lavasoft:
With the ability to scan your RAM, Registry, hard drives, and external storage devices for known data-mining, advertising, and tracking components, Easily can clean your system, allowing you to maintain a higher degree of privacy while you surf the Web. http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2007/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?tag=lst-0-8

Spybot - Search & Destroy - can detect and remove a multitude of adware files and modules from your computer. Spybot also can clean program and Web-usage tracks from your system, which is especially useful if you share your computer. Modules chosen for removal can be sent directly to the included file shredder, ensuring complete elimination from your system. For advanced users, it allows you to fix Registry inconsistencies related to adware and to malicious program installations. The handy online-update feature ensures that Spybot always has the most current and complete listings of adware, dialers, and other uninvited system residents. http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=lst-0-3

      SpywareBlaster 4.0 "Freeware"

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan for and clean spyware–it prevents it from being installed in the first place.

The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And this is the most powerful protection program available. It can help keep your system spyware-free and secure, without interfering with the "good side" of the web. And unlike other programs, does not have to remain running in the background. 1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox
Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

I'm sure you have heard the saying "theres no such thing as a free lunch."

Well this is pretty much the same for software too.

If you absolutely have to have a free spyware remover, I would recommend AVG's spyware remover.

However, as a person who suffered a major spyware infection, and almost had to get a new computer. I know that free spyware removers don't always work as they should.

It wasn't until I came across a website in google, and got AdwareAlert, that my spyware problems finally ended. The website I found can be found below.

      Good Luck,
      -TheAnswerGal
