My roommate was a dweeb and was on the computer and somehow deleted some of the software…the part that has the default gateway that contains the LAN so that the qwest dsl could connect to the internet…so we have the connection and the means to get to the internet but "there's no damn gateway" etc.
It's a emachine so when I called qwest they referred me back to emachines and they wanted to charge $59.99…since its not even my computer…that was just not going to happen…lol…I do like the intenet though and wondered if anyone could recommend something…lol
My pal has the xp software and stuff so he could re install it if its necessary with the IP address and stuff but I thought I'd check the net and see whats up….
that all worked and I released the default gate way and renewed it and the thing now it keeps telling me that the "trc driver" is not working or something like that…I have not been able to check up on that yet….lol dang things may be the death of my home status…lol

Open up command prompt, type in ipconfig/release and then ipconfig /renwew if that doesnt work ask dsl what dg you should use…or ask somone who lives by you with dsl.

go to cmd and ipconfig/all ipconfig/renew that should let u look at details and refresh if neccesary

It'll probably do you some good anyway to give it a fresh install. Since its been tampered around with. Thats what i would do anyway.. Actually what i would do is get a copy of ubuntu linux.
