Hi! Ok, so this summer I am flying, and I am going to be wearing skinny jeans, but on the calf, they are slightly big, so I am planning on putting safety pins on the bottom of them so they wont be so big. And I have already tested this and they do look smaller. So please no answers like, "they wont look smaller". And I was wondering if I took off the safety pins before I got to security, placed them in my carry-on, which is one with wheels, would they take my safety pins from my carry-on? Or would they just see them in the x-ray and let me through without taking them out of my carry-on?And, PLEASE, PLEASE,PLEASE, NO ONE GIVE ME THE LINK TO THE TSA WEBSITE, BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY CHECKED. BUT, IF YOU FINF SOMETHING ON THE TSA WEBSITE THAT CLEARLY STATES, NO SAFTEY PINS OR SAFETY PINS ALLOWED, THEN I DON'T MIND THE LINK. Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for your help! I greatly appreciate it!BEST ANSWER 10 POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Quick question for Sugar, or anyone else who wants to answer this. What does it mean to have someone taper them for me?

They are starting to loosen up on their requirements a bit. I would put some in your suitcase just incase they take them from you at security. But I don't think they will.

some airliner's might let you get through other might not. Why don't you let someone taper them for you for a buck or two.

Yes, saftey pins are allowed. I fly all the time and I've been losing weight and haven't had the time for shopping so I use saftey pins. It's kind of like the button on your pants.

No, just checked with a friend who works at Exeter Airport Security Department and she says that they'll be confiscated and no matter how small they are, they'll be detected by the metal detector.
She advises to put said trousers in the suitcase and wear something else to travel. She also commented that it is unwise to travel with tight clothes.
