are there any "All in one" antivirus/antispyware/antirootkit tools or programs?

April 22nd, 2008 · 7 Comments

can anyone tell me of a program that can scan for and remove multiple types of malware; that is viruses, spyware, adware, worms, rootkits and/or trojans?
doing one type after another scan is time/ resource consuming, it would be nice to do most or all the scans all at once with one program/tool.

Hitman Pro can do it. It basically installs all the required programs and manages them on its on, basically acting like one big program.

if you want to pay for it, then get norton. otherwise there are plenty of good freeware ones.

BOClean is pretty much what you're asking for. It pretty much handles all malware. It's from a reputable company. And it's free.

      http://www.comodo.com/boclean/boclean.html

It does real-time protection, which means it will check all your files as you use them, but it could potentially slow down your computer.

You should use a quality antivirus (if you must use a free one, AVG is reasonable ).
Spybot 1.5 is a good anti spyware/malware program as is Adware (whatever the latest version is)
You should always make sure that hey are all updated to the latest version, It is neccessary to have ONLY one antivirus program - but it is advisable to use MORE than one anti spyware utility on regular basis
