On my laptop, I tried to use Windows visual styles and I accidentally renamed uxtheme.dll without installing the new uxtheme. So now when I try log on to my laptop, I only get my desktop wallpaper. No task bar, no nothing. Not even one icon.
Now I use my Mom’s laptop and we have separate Windows XP user accounts, so I was wondering if the same thing happens to go wrong again, would it just go wrong with my uxtheme.dll and I could log into her account and everything would be fine, or do we share the same uxtheme. Also, if I use visual styles, will her account only work with visual styles also? We are both computer administrators.
