Attachment with a trojan?

August 21st, 2008 · 7 Comments

I opened an attachment the other day that I found out had a trojan in it. However, as soon as I opened it, I closed it, and my computer hasn’t been acting slow or anything. Because I closed it quickly, could the trojan not have been let out?
I have done a virus scan and everything like that.

I don’t mean to sound rude, but please answer the question, I’m not interested in various anti virus programmes.

it doesn’t matter how quickly you close it. Electrons travel much faster than you ever could.

once you double click anything no matter how fast you are u cant stop its execution. You can only close it once it has been executed(you only get to see any window once the process has been executed).
If your antivirus dint find nething then probably it wasnt a trojan.

If a trojan was in the attachment, it is probably on your system.

I would suggest scanning with anti-malware tools, but since your not interested ………….

Many antivirus programs will warn you that the attachment has a Trojan. By simply opening the attachment and then closing it you should be pretty safe, the majority of them require you to physically download and execute them, the download being the .exe file, so if you did not download it or open it then you are probably fine.

if your security software did not warn u , then how did u know there was a trojan inside it i assume your your security software did warn u but u still opened the Attachment well you had closed the attachment very soon but from my experience if there was the trojan then your pc is already infected it takes only less then one second to infect the pc

Does not mattter that your closed the attachment in a split second, if there was a trojan the trojan is in your system.

Scan your system with your antivirus and antispyware complete scan.

It doesn’t matter. You opened the attatchment. I had a trojan on my computer, and nothing seemed slow, but if you wait too long to remove it, your computer will slow, then you’ll get infected causing your PC to crash.
