attachments will no longer open-new email incompatibility with Norton Antivirus?

My Norton Antivirus says it is scanning for viruses, but it never resolves, and Norton says it is likely that it is Yahoo’s scanning that keeps getting in the way. It happens even when I turn off email scanning on Norton.
