I've just installed Avast free edition and did my first scan. I found it annoying that every time a virus or malware was found, the alarm would sound and a recording would say, "Caution - a virus has been detected". I'm used to running scans and leaving the computer alone until same is completed. Then there will be a report and I can decide how I want to deal with the problem(s). Is this how Avast works? Is there any other option or setting that will keep me from racing back to the computer every few minutes (or seconds)? I find this very distracting. I would be most grateful if someone can help me. The program seems quite good but these "individual" alarms that have to be dealt with one at a time is a nuisance. Thank you!
