avast how to usesssssss?

okay i have avast but dont know how to use it lits a dumb radio lookin thing and when you go to the ^ lookin thing in corner it asked you what do you want to scan well i dont know why is it not simple like i want to scan whole system and when its done do the viruses go in to the chest lookin thing i already did the total boot scan so help!!!
i have windows vista i have a malware i need to get rid of
