I think avast pwns antivir.
I know alot of you will say that antivir is better because it has a higher detection rate.I would say avast is better because it also detects spyware,adware and rootkits.
Fact is that antivir is only good for removing viruses,trojans and worms.Antivir also sucks on vista because it takes for ever to make an update,windows security center will pop-up like 6 times saying that antivir is out of date on startup….
Your opinion please ?

I used avast for years, tried antivir for less than one day and went back to avast.It may not have a higher detection rate, but there is no messing with it unless it detects something.It's just there doing it's job,updating itself and making my life easier.

Antivir the best!! works great on my comp…vista … updates no more than 30 seconds … with my firewall that detects spyware and firefox …. awsome …u like avast … use it………

Being that I am a registered beta tester for antivirus, antispyware and other software programs that are not yet available to the general public, I recommend that you go with Avira from Germany the free version. Has a very high detection rate of about 97.6. Higher then Avast.
If you feel that having to update daily is and effort, then go with Avast as they update auto.
