AVG 7.5 Computer Scanning question…?

April 15th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I have AVG 7.5 which scans my computer for threats. Currently, I have over 2000 files in my vault, which have been identified as threats and moved there. Most of them are tracking cookies, but a couple are worms and trojan horses. Most have a red exclamation mark next to them, but a couple have a blue one and some have a red one over an envelope. They all say Moved Object and Infected in their information. If they have been moved to the vault, is it safe for me to delete them from the vault? How can I safely remove them?

Just click on the link to "empty the virus vault"
The files are moved to the vault in case they are needed system files. 99.99% of the time you can just delete the files instead of moving them to the vault.

If your system is working fine then just delete them.

The blue one is tracking cookie which is low risk.
The red one is viruses or other threats that is high risk.

If you move an infected files to the vault , it means those files are encrypted and can not do harm to your computer

You can safely delete them , click the "Wipe Object".
