I got Avg 8 a while ago and I remember it saying it would always be free. Fine cool. Now it’s telling me that if I want to use it I haveto renew my subscription for $40. That’s not free.
Anyone know how to deal with it without paying money?
It is 8.0. Free. That's what I downloaded, that's what it says on the window when I open it. It says I have 57 days of Protection remaining. Stay secure. renew now and continue to be protected. I click on it and it takes me to the upgrade and pay screen.

Ahhh, you’re getting that pop-up while using AVG 7 right?
That pop-up does inform you to pay for the premium version. However, AVG 8 is still available for free, just like previous versions.

Not sure what you downloaded, but it’s saying anything about renewing a subscription, it’s not AVG Free. Are you sure it’s not just an ad asking you to upgrade?
