AVG Anti-virus free…Q’s, I need help…?

September 7th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I had several scans, and this is how long it took…

15 minutes
1 hr, 3 minutes
1 hr, 10 minutes

Thats a big difference between 15 miutes the first time and then 1 hr.

Also, after the scan is complete, does the computer get rid of Infections, Spyware, Warnings itself? Cause it doesnt really let me remove them. But it like says like 10 infections found and 10 infected objects removed or healed. And then 4 spyware found and 4 spyware removed. So does this program like remove all the bad stuf automatically? How do you remove the warnings? Thank you for your help in advance!!!

It depends all the stuff you have on your computer it goes through all the files the hard drives. It does a test on mine every morning it takes it usually between 30 to 60 minutes just depends on all the sites you go to and everything installed on your computer. Yes its suppose to remove them.

I cannot explain the 15 minute scan. Far too short to scan your whole computer. Maybe you selected a smaller area by mistake.

If you are using AVG Free 8.0, you can set it to run automatically when you aren’t using your computer. Open AVG, then Tools, then Advanced Settings. Set your scan schedule and indicate that you want AVG to delete anything it finds. Also set the Virus vault size to at least 200 infections and the hold time to only one day.
