AVG Anti-Virus Problem???

My Avg Free edition detects a threat in a file, and it says do you want to remove threat, and i Click Yes-Remove. But then it asks me if i want to force Threat removal, and with a warning saying-"can cause computer to crash". Should i force the threat removal???

      If it's AVG Free 8, yes.

      Make sure you save your data before you do so. It may not happen, it's more of a disclaimer. Forcing the threat removal is probably the best plan. You may have to restart, worst case, but if you don't, there might still be an infected file on your computer.

      The issue is that sometimes, virus files can attach themselves to critical windows files.

      Removing the infected file can often also remove the windows system file that it is attached to.

      It is a risk, sure. But it is better than having a virus running on your computer.
