I have heard AVG anti virus spyware thing isnt that great from some people who have used it. But i have also heard the opposite. What is your opinion on AVG? Also is it a good program to have?

It's working for me. I took McAfee off of my computer which I get free through Comcast, because McAfee was too big, too much of a resource hog. My laptop only has 256 MB of RAM, and I wanted something smaller. It is and it works. Then I put it on my desktop because I got tired of when McAfee would interrupt to Auto Update and tie everything up. AVG is whole lot better, in terms of footprint and resource utilization.

AVG Anti Virus FREE, Anti Spyware FREE, and Anti Rootkit FREE are awesome. I had McAfee @ one point and I hated it. I got a virus and it shut down McAfee. Then I used CA and it screwed up my computer so I just use AVG and it works really good. Antispy is a little wacky but it always accomplishes the goal we are shooting for. I also would recommend the ZoneAlarm Firewall.

You can also try AVAST and ANTIVIR. Both of them is free and awesome.

I have had avg for a few years now and i honestly think its one of the better anti-virus softwares and there is always new updates every day or two. So far i have not got a virus so would recommend avg for you, also its very easy to operate.

That free stuff …. hmm I wouldn't rely on it to [protect] my PCs . Except for a nice altenative anti-spyware for a backup like Lavasofts Ad_Aware SE 2007 .
