I have AVG Free on my computer, but it keeps having error messages and saying I need to install updates, then saying the updates have failed.
I got a message from Windows Security Center earlier saying I need to either update AVG or get a new anti-virus program (but I would need to uninstall AVG first as it's unsafe to have 2 anti-virus programs at the same time). So I tried and failed to update AVG, then I tried to uninstall it so I could download a different program. However, it said the uninstallation was unsuccessful. I've tried uninstalling it several times since and I always get an error message saying it couldn't be uninstalled. Is there anything I can do? It seems I don't have a working anti-virus program and am not able to get one.

AVG is so bad in our computer. This is the most anti-virus that I hate so much! This is a resource hog! all this do is to messed up systems! Ok for your problem I will suggest you to do this. First go to start menu and click run and type in "msconfig" without the quote, after that go to startup tab uncheked all the avg you will see that will run in your startup, after that still in that system config click service and at the bottom you will see a box saying to hide all microsoft services. After that unchecked all the avg you will see and click apply then ok then a window will appear click restart now. Upon the reboot of your computer try now to uninstall AVG in the control panel>add/remove program. And if it still doesn't uninstall then I suggest you to download CCleaner and Advance system care, just google for that 2 utilities and download and install it. Scan and run those two programs, after that cleaning reboot and try to uninstall again AVG and if it still not remove you need now to backup your files and format your system. Or go to the nearest repair shop.
