It says I am not protected, Email Scanner is not active. How do I fix it? The only thing it says is to go to Tools> Advanced Settings…. what next? Is it a quick fix? HELP!!!
it didn't work, any other suggestions?

click email scanner, and go to properties, make sure it is enabled

if thats not the issue, then you might want to try an update

Nothing at all wrong with AVG 8 Free. Double-click on the AVG icon in your clock tray and that should open the AVG 8 GUI. Double-click on “E-Mail Scanner” and check the boxes in the options dialog that opens up. That should solve your problem.
And trust me, it’s very effective.
      Hope this helped.
      Happy computing :)
