My laptop is fried. I Had a blue desktop wallpaper saying spyware was found, scanned and had like 197 errors. I was able to get rid of them all, but now I am stuck with more permanent problems. My task manager is disabled, (By the "new administrator") and I can't open some things in the control panel (like the security, and changing accounts and add or removing programs) because it says: C:WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe
Application not found.
It also states this with other programs, like half the important files for them were deleted.
I also cannot open many of my .exe programs. It automatically opens the "Open With…" thing for me to choose, but if I choose that program exactly (ie want to open firefox on my desktop, if I choose to open with firefox it will open).
Is there any way that I can fix this? This laptop was given to me so I have no warranty or boot discs of any kind. HELP!

Try scannning your laptop with some online anti virus. Or download some virus removal tools which would help you in removing the virus. The exe virus is i think called Brontok. And i think your laptop is also affected by virus called "weakif" or something like that, i dont exactly remember the name…

It is probably unrecoverable at this point. Save whatever vital data you can, then reinstall.
If you have a windows serial number (should be recoverable from your current installation…use this http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/)
You should be able to use just ANY Windows CD (even a pirated one) as long as you have a valid serial number for the exact same version of Windows, I think.
You really need to be more careful about what you download. I don't run antispyware software regularly and don't use antivirus software, and I've had a grand total of one incident of comparable severity (worse, actually) to yours in the last 11 years.
If you want this to (probably) never happen again, you could try running Linux instead. Every version of that can be had for free, and some are just fine for novice users (as long as all the hardware is compatible, at least.)

It sounds like your registry is well scrambled. You could fix it, but it's not worth the effort. Copy all you personal files, bookmarks, mail and mail settings to a memory stick then format the hard drive. Make sure you have all your software, OS disks and and drivers you might need.
