I recently got an HP laptop. i know that there is free anti virus software online, but you can’t completely trust those. i want to purchase the most reliable software..any suggestions?

AVG or Avast. they are FREE!!!! Norton and the others just use up your resources and slow down your computer. Go to CNET's download.com and you will see that they rate avast an Avg there top picks.

nod32 and superantispyware pro.
but there are trusted free security tools like avast antivirus and superantispyware free edition and spyware terminator.

AVG antivirus. Works for me. Never really had any problems with it.

I recommend Trend Micro, I use it and my computer is doing very well.

I agree with the above. Do not buy Norton it uses a huge amount of your system resources and is not do as good as Avast (my preference or AVG
