Currently looking for a solid small footprint Anti virus software for a small business and was wondering how everyone else felt towards which product would suite best.
We were with Trend Micro, and they just havent been up to par at all, bad customer service, constant hassles with the software, freezing up our database, the list goes on.
Was looking into McAfee, Kapersky, or Norton.
What are some of everyone elses views on the subject? Id love to know!
Thanks

Try free anti virus protection for small time. If it’s good you can purchase a commercial version of the program.
Try this link and download one.

Avast anti-virus which better definitions, anti-spyware and anti-rootkit built in, faster and more reliable:

NOD32 or Kaspersky, both been around long enough to have built a consistent record of being the best. Norton is good but not as good and I've not been impressed by their customer service. McAfee just isn't up there with them. The free ones are OK for a home computer but I wouldn't use them for a business computer.

Securing Windows operating systems from Internet attacks is not a single application, or even a suite; it’s layers of protection, user habits, threat landscape awareness, system configuration, and more.
Although they may be good, plenty of freeware is available that will do the same job (maybe better?) as CareOne, McAfee, or Norton suites, that do not deplete your system resources (and therefore speed).
Look through some of the suggested freeware here, and pick some of the frontline defenses and study up.
Sorry, but using Windows requires you to become a security expert, it’s that simple.
Something they don’t tell you when you buy this system…

Also, for this small business, will you utilize e-commerce?
If so you’ll need much stiffer securities to prevent hacks leading to fraud (against you or the buyer)
A small priced, yet very effective hardware item is ‘Astaro Gateway’ which provides network wide multifunction security.
Worth a look…
