Better to have a “free” Anti-Spyware program or subscription?

August 26th, 2008 · 6 Comments

I’ve currently got Spybot and Adaware as anti-spyware programs but wondering if they are doing all they can to help. I was thinking of getting a subscription based spyware removal system but hate the thought of paying an exorbitant fee for it just finding out it is a good as a free program. Any suggestions?
I have Norton as virus protection.

      That’s a terrible combo.
      there are catagories of antimalwares.
      1=antivirus
      2=antispyware/adware
      3=firewall

      Adaware is 2 and Spybot is 2,also,so your computer is only vulnerable to the bad stuff.

      I highly suggest that you buy BitDefender.They are the absolute best,and the cheapest…buy the suite,and get that nasty cheap stuff off of your system.

      BitDefender has been unmatched in it’s security systems for about a decade…bitdefender.com…It’s a wise investment,trust me

      I suggest you try famous ones like Norton and Mcafee. But you should use McAfee, I have it, plus a subscription, and my computer has never had a virus, it also puts the option in the right click menu to scan a software, and it has auto scan ,which you can set to your preferences, and it can scan when ever you want. It also automatically deletes a possible virus and tells you once it's done.

      I have used both, and I find the free to be better than the paid stuff, not just because it is free. To be more specific, I have used Norton (paid) AVG (Free) and Avast (Free), norton hogs system resources, AVG (Free) is crippleware ie it has features disabled, unless you buy, Avast is the BEST, its free, the full package, and works as good as if not better than paid stuff.

      You can use a Free spyware program as it will do just as a good job as a paid one. Spybot and Adaware is ok and they does a good job as for as protection concern, but here is a better one and it is Free also. (http://www.superantispyware.com) Now this spyware program is awesome (my opinion) and it does a very good job of getting rid of and protecting our computer from (spyware, malware, adware, trojan horses, and some computer worms) I always highly recomend this spyware program because of the good job it does. You can have more than one spyware program loaded on your computer at one time, but if you decited to give this spyware program a try, uninstall one of the other ones first ok. Good Luck
