I have been infected with the blasted anti virus pro virus since last week and cannot seem to get rid of it. I tried calling Microsoft PC Safety and even after 2.5 hours of them helping me delete files it is still there. We have ran the malware bytes, ewindo, ad-ware, symantec, and even manually deleted files in safe mode from the temp, %temp%, and system32 folders. It keeps blocking me from going to additional websites to download new spyware scanners and even blocked the help people from remotely accessing my computer. It also will not let me restore it to an earlier date! I really think I might throw the computer out the window and go buy a Mac…..
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

start your computer in safe mode with networking by tapping the F8 key while it is booting up…go to control panel add/remove and take out anything to do with symantec and norton as they are garbage…now go to http://www.avast.com and download the free home version….run a boot time scan which is part of the set up….it will get rid of that nasty little virus along with others as well…it also has awesome resident protection….after it reboots, install the free version of superantispyware and update it and run a full scan…your computer will run like a top and the two programs play nice together…cheers

Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and download SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:
http://www.superantispyware.com/superantispywarefreevspro.html
Select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan and remove infections, then click on Preferences, click Repairs Tab and click on any of the System and Browser Repair Items that you may have problems with then click Perform Repair.
If your desktop has changed or icons are missing also use:
Wallpaper Hijacker Removal Tool:

Note: You should hit all “Repair” buttons even though it may not say “Found!” This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.
