A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware and software is properly installed.
If this is a new installatio, ask your harware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware/software, disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing your computer,
press F8 to slct Advanced Startup options, and then select safe mode
have tried all the safe mode options and nothing works, we have tried to do full restore but it will not do that ,my bf thinks it might be the hard drive could he be right?
thanks for you replys thing is i dont have any disks with the computer as it was already on and is stored on it to. we have tried to do a restore with a xp disk but its doing nothing at all.

Take a look at the link below. From what i have read this maybe an issue specific to dell dimension so maybe a good idea to contact dell. Failing that try a new installation of windows.
Good luck

ok…you need to get out your operating system CD…put it in the drive….boot up using safe mode…
get into the repair console…let it try to repair your computer utilizing the cd…if it can’t you have no choice but to reload the operating sytem.
