Call of Duty 4 Error: Please Insert Correct Dvd-ROM.?

I just finally got CoD4 installed the other day and when I clicked to play on multiplayer, the game functioned properly, but when I went to play on single player, I got this message:

"Please insert correct DVD-ROM, select OK, and restart application."

I do have the correct DVD-ROM in the drive because there is only one disk, and I bought the game brand new and unopened, so my validation key is still good.

This is my system specs:
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT
RAM: 1022 MB
Operating System: Windows XP Proffessional x64 Edition

I searched google or this error and apparently many people were having this same problem, but I could not find a solution.
