Can a security guard do this?…?

July 24th, 2008 · 7 Comments

I live in a place where they have a security guard on the gates, and if you live there you get an id card and a sticker for your car. So i have a card and a sticker on my car, but today i was getting in with my bike and he asked me for my M driver license ( dont have it) And he said i cant get in with the bike without…and i have to park it outside…???!?!?!? I mean i have a card that i live there, hes not a cop..so i just ignored him and went through..

Can he even do this? Hes a damn old security guard.
I dont see why he is asking for it, when the guy at the other gate didnt ask me. And if i have a id card that i live there and can drive a vehicle in, who the hell is he to ask me to show him???
I dont get it why did they give me the card if i am going 2 get abused and not b able to park my rides where i live…

im gonna go with he can because he did. he may not be in the right, but hes just looking out for his job. i understand that may make you feel upset, but at the same time be glad you have a security guard who cares. my security guard locks the laundry room an hour early so he wont have to come back later. even though you feel like you got shafted, i would LOVE to have a security guard like that. and if hes as old as you say, you know how stubborn old people are. humor him and say 'ok'. less stress for everyone.

He can. lt's annoying but he's only doing his job.
He should have let you pass as it's only a first offense. Try befriending him so he'll soften on you. l'm sure he won't forget you anymore.

He can give you trouble but can not stop you from entering the property that you live. The Police could have been called out to deal with it. The problem that you have is that you caused the problem not him. If your in the US you always have to carry a valid I.D. card its the law. and now you see why. As for the gaurd cut him some slack he is there to keep your place safe and keep people that have no business being there out. At least you know that he is trying to do his job, and not turning his back.

Be thankful for him to be asking. Many people go out biking and on the same token should have some kind of ID on them. In case anything happens to them ie. a car hit them.
He did his job do you think it's nice that he checking who is come in and out for safety reasons???

Would be mad if a stranger came in and brake into places where you live. would you be mad then
