Can a spyware/trojan/hacker access my computer through a back door if the network card has been disabled?

August 31st, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have recently been infected by malicious viruses (spyware, trojans, the complete works). My anti-spyware (well and virus but I also use AVG for that) software (Spyware Doctor Starter Edition) has detected the viruses but when i reboot and re-scan it then detects different viruses, anyway that’s not the point I have found out about that :) but when i dug deeper i found that many of my viruses had different worrying characteristics all but one I have worked out.
The one characteristic is that 3 infections are believed to create a backdoor through which hackers, spyware and the likes can sneak in BUT due to another characteristic I had disconnected it from the network so can and if it can how? can these viruses access my computer if it is non-communicable (i.e. it is not and cannot connect/ed to anything, it is a sole, single device)

Thanks!
