Can I uninstall my other antivirus program?

April 16th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Recently, I have been having pop-up problems and alerts telling me I have virus's and such, so I decided to get a new Antivirus program.
I installed CA Anti-Virus and this has corrected the problem.
But the other problem I have now is with my other Antivirus program…
I'm not sure if I can uninstall it, or if I should.

Since I'm already protected with another Antivirus program, is it fine if I uninstall my old one..?
(my old Antivirus program was AVG Free)

Yes, you shouldn't have two, they are likely to conflict and leave you less, rather than more, secure. Uninstall AVG via Add/Remove Programs, you might also need the AVG removal tool

this is a long process and this is how i had to get off my pc
      start –run –type –regedit
in the left window in the hkey –current user scroll to software–look for avg right click delete whole file at one time
than go to local machine do the same —
      nope ur not finished yet
close page go back to start go to search –click on all files and folders–type avg in the window –click ok than delete avg folder
now it is completely off ur pc
found on google by asking —-how to completely get avg off my computer

i had to do this to be able to install kaspersky

add/remove will not get avg registy values or the folder
