Can i uninstall the sims 2 then install the sims deluxe without uninstalling expansions?

i lost the cd's for a few expansions and i would rather not have to lose those expansions. i want know if i can possibly switch the sims 2 with the sims 2 deluxe basicly. because i dont have nightlife.

      no you cannot uninstall just the sims 2 but keep the expansions.

      No. The expansion packs are dependent upon The Sims 2.

      However, if you have Deluxe (and I don't, so I could be wrong), isn't Nightlife just on one of the discs? So couldn't you insert that disc and install Nightlife, rather than reinstalling all of the discs? If not, just buy Nightlife and install that one.

      Same exact thing is happing to me now…all I did was copied my sims 2 files on my desktop

      My Document –> EA Games –> Then Right Click on The Sims 2 and press COPY
      Go to anything with no file or folder (maybe desktop) and press paste. Everything wil be saved there. Then you have to uninstall your expanstion pacts (I was p*ssed) But I will see how it goes and hopfully wont loose my data and Costome Content.
