is ther a way to change the file system on a mac? At this time it is formatted as hfs file system and wanna try and see if I can format it as ntfs. are there any programs that allows this so I can run a leopard os as ntfs.

Nope, you can install Windows on the newer macs that have Intel processors, the older ones you can probably run VMWare or a similar virtual serving program to install a Virtual Copy of Windows on your mac and run it that way.

It will not run on NTFS. This is NOT why programs do not run on it, they do not run on Mac as the operating system is NOT Windows.
