i have my driver’s license, social security card and passport with me. i have no utility bill or any document besides my driver’s license and passport that show where is reside. the other thing, i am out of town working, and the addresses on my license and passport differ. can i still vote?
i got a lot of mixed answers… i guess i'll go there and find out
nope i could not vote, i was unregistered, even though i showed proof of identification, proof of permanent residence, proof of american citizen, i was denied because this wasnt where i was supposed to be to vote, it didnt correlate. thats a bummer. i guess folks who want to vote but dont want to go thruogh the hassle of the voting process cannot vote… that might be a flaw?

It depends on your state, and whether or not you’ve voted in the state before.

As long as you registered in the county you are going to cast you vote. with your ID, they can look you up and see if you are registered, then you can vote.

“Govt issued” is the key part. Make up your mind who to vote for first: http://www.theobamafile.com/

Depending on your state law, either the drivers license or passport should be sufficient ID (The social security card is not. Your ID must show your name and either your photo or address).
You can check your state’s specific ID requirements at voteforchange.com.

You have to vote in the district you live in.In my state it is against the law to vote outside the district you live in.Your forms of ID are fine if they have your correct address.

Yes. Insist that they let you vote. Even if you do a provisional ballot.

It depends on in which state you live. But in most states you can vote with only your Voter’s Registration card, and you do not need I.D. if you have voted in that state before. If you do need I.D. then you should use whichever I.D. coincides with the address listed on your Voter’s Registration. Either way, you can pretty much use any form of I.D. to link your name to your Voter’s Registration. In some states, you can use something as unofficial as a Sam’s Club Card for identification.
You may have trouble regarding your location, however. You will need to vote in the precinct in which you are registered. You can find your particular precinct number and location online. Since I don’t know in which state you live, I can only advise you to Google “Voter Precinct”and Your State.
Whatever else you have to do today, you MUST vote. People have bled for this privilege.
