I have 2 cell phones a Samsung A940 and a R400… the first is formerly Sprint pcs and the other is a Metro pcs (local florida company)
The thing is that I am moving to Alaska and the metro wont work there and I refuse to sell my soul to the devil (sprint) to get my phone conected.
I wonder if there is anything I can do to any of those phones to make them work with another company.
like some type of hack.

First, you cannot change service providers simply by "hacking" the phone, and even if you were able to, you would still be bound by any existing contract with your current service provider. Secondly, the A940 is a CDMA phone so it will not work with a GSM provider. There is no slot in the phone that you can insert a SIM card into.
Review the terms of your contract to see if you can get out of it if you move out of your home area. If not, you may be able to pay a pro-rated termination fee to get out of the contract. Then get a new phone with a different provider when you move.
