why would you want to do that? get a decent anti-virus instead

you sure can.
Be prepared to have one of the slowest computers ever though.

It's possible but Windows will warn you because they do cause problems running at the same time. If you already have both, load them both on your computer but only let one run while you web browse and such. Use the other one to do virus scan along with the running one. Norton and McAfee both pick up different threats so running two will ensure elite safety.

yeah u can. I did that last year but it made my computer slow down. Preferebly use just one.
Mcafee is way better than norton because u can be more flexible while still being protected

They might interfer with one another and they are both crap.
Try free-av.com or panda soft or trend micro, avg or some other better anti virus

Yes you can run both, but your computer will probably do two things:
Take longer to boot up.
Run slower.

I wouldn't run either. They are the two worst anti-virus programs I have ever used, and doing so will not afford any extra protection from viruses.
I tried McAfee once and it failed half way through the installation, forcing a restart and corrupting windows files, eventually making me re-install windows.
Norton has too many features you don't need and will constantly ask you to confirm actions and scan files you know are safe.
Avast is what I use. It's pretty much perfect. Also its 100% free.

no, they will block each other and make your computer slower then heck. I repeat don't do it unless you want to have a very slow computer. Messed up one too.

NO! You should NEVER run more than one actively scanning anti-virus program at the same time. That will only weaken your computer. Also, please don't use Norton. It is a very weak, outdated anti virus software that doesn't work anymore. It uses outdated rootkit technology, which is what virus writers use, so you imagine the rest. McAfee is better, but not the best. The best way to tell how good an anti-virus software is by determining how often it checks for updates. Norton checks for updates once a week. McAfee: every 3 days. The anti-virus sofware I recommend is TrendMicro. It checks for updates EVERY FEW HOURS. It is ranked best by Consumer Reports, and DELL signed a contract with Trend instead of renewing with McAfee, which should tell you something. I'd uninstall both McAfee and Norton and buy a subscription to TrendMicro.

"NO" you can not have 2 anti-virus program installed at the same time on your computer because they will be in conflict with each other and not work properly. You can have more than 1 spyware program but only 1 antivirus.

I forgot the versions I used but what happened was norton detected viruses inside mcafee's vault and mcafee detected viruses inside nortons vault, which was in its vault in the first place.
They will run alright but they will not run smoothly. They will simply detect each other's vault. So it better to chose only one of them.
I am currently running mcafee on our network and it is working great!
