I have no idea what happened but somehow Internet Explorer is now messed up on my laptop and I cannot get it to run. It worked two days ago and since I mainly use Firefox I didn't notice it mess up until today. Now I cannot get anything to pull up on it. I've tried the system restore, tried to delete the freaking thing, and tried to download an older version. Even downloaded the Internet Explorer tab for Firefox. Still cannot get even that to work. Haven't downloaded anything other than a yahoo game so I'm confused as heck. Firewall and antivirus don't seem to be the problem or Firefox wouldn't work. Any ideas?

if you have a memory stick or something to transfer a few utils then I would suggest the following utils to use :
hijackthis from http://www.hijackthis.de
iefix from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
the iefix util only works on ie6 and possibly below - it does not work on ie 7 so if you have ie 7 un install ie7 and go back down to ie6 and then run the ie fix util.
You will need your windows xp disc for the ie fix util short of that at least the i386 folder.
For a tutorial on hijackthis - please look here :

Also before you do the above I would suggest disabling your system restore functionality by doing something like so :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310405
and using anti spyware and anti virus products ( if you need suggestions on which ones to use then go to thefreecountry websites as listed below to see numerous ones )
free anti spyware utils:
http://www.thefreecountry.com/security/spywareremoval.shtml
free anti virus utils :
http://www.thefreecountry.com/security/antivirus.shtml
Also ensuring that your anti spyware and anti virus defintions are up to date.
If you need more help - let me know.
btw if you do have IE7 then you can go to tools –> internet options –> advanced tab and you should be able to reset to factory defaults or restore IE to its default settings - this should hopefully help or fix it.
Personally I still uninstall ie7 and fix ie 6 and then just re install ie 7 if I want ie 7.

You could:
a) Try uninstalling this version from Control Panel.
b) Call in a technician
c) Continue using firefox.
