This might be a bit long of info but I think you'll need it to help me so bare with me please. I've been trying a few different Antivirus/spyware programs lately, and each time I decide to try a new one I always uninstall the other. Lastely I had Kaspersky and some other spyware software installed, then I turned on automatic updates for windows. Well for some reason it signaled Windows license validation (a message appeared saying an unauthorized change was made to windows) which wouldnt validate, not sure why because Vista is preinstalled on my Toshiba satellite. and I couldnt access my control panel or anything, only IE. Finally after starting in safe mode I was able to access the controls and do a system restore, which fixed my inability to access windows controls. After doing this a bunch of problems starting happening (Norton, although previously uninstalled, was back on there and causing my internet to not work) and now Im trying to reinstall Kaspersky trial again, and now Spybot search and destroy (previously uninstalled) is back on the add/remove programs and I cannot uninstall with add/remove programs. Kaspersky will not let me install without removing it first. When I try to uninstall it says some file "Spybot - Search & Destroy\unins000.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.
So my question, how can I uninstall Spybot? Im afraid that if I reinstall it to uninstall it, either I will have problems installing or it will give me two duplicate programs to uninstall and I will not get anywhere. Help!! Thanks

if the icons for these programs are in the tool tray, right click on them and disable/exit the program and then uninstall each separately.if you don't kill these programs or disable them B4 you uninstall, there will still B active files/folders that will prevent you from installing another program.Disable, then uninstall.

You don't need to install it for uninstalling. Install "Revo Uninstaller" and then you can uninstall "Spybot" using it easily. Here is the link to download Revo Uninstaller. It will certainly work.
