I could not use my laptop’s wireless internet after deleting Norton Antivirus 90 days Trial!!
It said “identifying” and did not connect to internet.
So I restored my computer back to the factory setting that was backed up and then internet worked.
But norton is reinstalled because it’s auto-installed when I restore it.
So I went to start search (I use vista) → msconfig and disabled all the services of symantec corporation. After that, my internet connectivity died again. And right after I turned on all the serveces again, the internet worked.
So I’m sure this is problem involved with Norton!!
I don’t want norton antivirus trial on my computer, and do not understand why it’s anto-installed for pretty much every brand new computers I buy.
How do I fix this problem?

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool (see source for link).
Norton is rubbish - and now you can see why. It is the worst anti-virus product currently on the market. At one time it used to be good - before Symantec took over. Norton acts more like a virus and entrenches itself deep into your system. The software will do more harm to your PC than good and when you to to remove it, it leaves behind over 375 traces in your registry files/folders and subsystem. You have to download their removal tool just to get it off of your system. You are much better off with a free anti-virus product.
NOD32 and Kaspersky are the best anti-virus applications and much better than the best sellers Norton and McAfee (recent tests at av-comparatives.org). If you want a free anti-virus, AVG, Avast! or AntiVir all are better than Norton (install only 1).
