Can’t click on anything at the Start up of Windows XP.Why is that?

September 24th, 2008 · 1 Comment

When I turn on my comp, the desktop shows up,I wait til it’s fully loaded and then it just freezes up.I try to click on the start botton and nothing.Tried several different icons on the desktop…still nothing. The only way to make it work,is to start the windows task manager by pressing Ctrl/Alt/Delete at the same time. Then it seems to work fine. But why is that and how do I change it back to a normal operation?

Try opening up Task Manger. (ctrl+alt+delete). Then click on File> New Task. In the field box type in MSconfig. When and if that pops up go to the start-up tab at the top. Uncheck all of the things that you do not need to be started when you start your computers. Restart your computer.

      hope it helps.
