Can't modify hardware acceleration on Windows Vista?

Hey, I'm using Windows Vista and i can't change the hardware acceleration.It says "Your current display driver does not allow changes to be made to hardware acceleration settings".Any fixes?If there is please be specific.Ive tried a bunch of display drivers and nothings working
